Blind Spots in Systemic Consulting
We systemic practitioners are trained to recognize patterns, shift perspectives, and question supposed truisms. But how well do we actually see the patterns we ourselves are caught up in? What ideas about leadership, performance, power, gender, or “normality” do we unconsciously bring into our consulting work?
In their book “Operating System Patriarchy” (January 2027), Ute Clement and Antje Tschira take a feminist look at systemic consulting, coaching, and organizations. Not to proclaim the next “right” approach, but to take a closer look: Who is heard? Who decides? What perspectives are missing? What do we declare to be an individual problem, even though it might be a structural one?
In doing so, they want to put some of our observations and thought patterns up for discussion and work together on our own blind spots. Using case studies from consulting practice, points of contention, questions, and our “espressos for consulting,” the book focuses primarily on what a feminist perspective can concretely change in our own work.
We are delighted to have secured these two authors for our colloquium and look forward to engaging in conversation with them!
For all those who not only want to think systemically about consulting but also occasionally challenge their own existing thought patterns.
